These are pictures of the famous
Our Lady of Light Chapel,
also known as Chapel of Lorello.
A charming little Gothic Chapel founded and built
by the Sisters of Loretto
(first American order of nuns dedicated to teaching).
Located down town Santa Fe, NM.
This chapel has a lot of history and mystery.
 The Discovery channel has done a feature on the famous chapel.
    Now privately owned, you may take a tour here and visit the
Miraculous Staircase.

The story of Miraculous Staircase:
The Miraculous Staircase was build by an unknown person.
The architects had forgot to add a staircase to the choir gallery.
The nuns had to use a ladder to climb up to the choir gallery to sing choir.
A man that no one knew and was not from around that area
volunteered to build a staircase for the nuns.
         There was no nails used. The material used was not native to the area.
            The spiral winding structure apparently without support to the gallery above.
           After the staircase was built the man disappeared and was never seen again.
The nuns never got to pay him and no one ever found out who he was.
They believe he was a saint sent from heaven.
